Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the learning process in schools. So that learning that was originally carried out in schools must be changed to online learning. This study aims to determine the profile of students' learning independence in mathematics while students study online. The research method used is descriptive research with an instrument in the form of a self-learning questionnaire sheet. The population in the study were class VIII students who studied online and then samples were taken using simple random sampling technique and 144 samples were obtained. The data analysis technique used is descriptive-qualitative. The results showed that the level of learning independence of students who studied mathematics online was 17% in the good category, 67% in the fairly good category, and 16% in the poor category.
